Electrical Distribution Network Installation Specialists

offering real Competition in Connections to Developers,

EV charging point, Low Carbon Technology, Generation

and Storage Installers alike

Scope

We undertake projects with contestable conenctions of any size - from single service connections to major developments, connecting at all voltages up to 33 kV.

Some of the services we offer include:
  • Liaising with clients to determine their exact requirements / timescales to offer the most cost-effective and efficient solution for their needs
  • Offer phased payment plan giving clients more control over their build program and reduced up-front costs
  • Analyse the required electrical loads and either determine our own, or apply for a suitable Point-of-Connection on clients behalf *
  • For some small-scale developments requiring up to 200 kVA we can offer a speedier self-service PoC / Desdign / Connect service*
  • Draw up an Electrical Network Design and submit to the network operator for approval *
  • Supply standard legal documents which are required by some network operators for wayleaves / easements
  • Liaise with the network operators design team / delivery manager
  • Procure correct specification plant and equipment for installation
* following the 2015 network operators Code of Practice, we are now able to determine our own points-of-connection and approve our own network designs (dependent on DNO - up to 200 kVA) without the network operators prior approval. This will significantly reduce quote response times, improve project delivery times and reduce up-front costs.

PJDS carry out all off-site infrastructure using our own accredited civils staff - including:
  • Excavation and re-instatement in all surfaces
  • Operation of Ex-Vac suction excavation vehicle / plant (also available for hire)
  • Supply and and Install ducting, cables and warning tape up to 33 kV
  • Utility searches and plan provision
  • Land registry enquiries for cable easements etc
  • Liaise with Council Highways officers and obtain NRSWA section 50 streetworks licences / permits
  • Traffic management, lane closures, parking bay suspensions etc
We can also include on-site infrastructure as above at the clients request and also:
  • Construct sub-station / switchgear plinths
  • Construct brick-built substation enclosures
  • Supply and Install GRP enclosures for sub-stations / switchgear

On request, we can supply the correct specification materials for the client to self-install
Using our preferred suppliers, we are able to offer competitive rates on all self-install materials including:
  • Mains ducting
  • Service ducting
  • Warning tile-tape
  • Hockey-sticks / capping
  • Single- and three-phase meter boxes
Self-lay materials can be delivered directly to site or stored at our depot ready for call-off

We offer both HV and LV connections as required, installing the following:
  • Single- / three-phase domestic services
  • Multi-way distribution boards (for flats)
  • Landlords supplies
  • Temporary builders supplies
  • Link-boxes
  • Three-phase Industrial / Commercial supplies
  • Low Voltage CT metering
  • Disconnections / Transfers (un-metered)
  • Disconnections (metered - subject to status)
  • HV supplies (for adoption by network operator or independent network operator) or for private networks
  • High Voltage CT / VT metering
  • Sub-stations and switchgear for HV connections
  • Suitable earthing solutions (including earthing studies)

For suitable projects, we arrange to have the network adopted by an independent operator. This provides an asset value which is not available from the distribution network operators. The asset value is deducted from the quote, reducing the overall cost of installation
